Maria Sparaki

Research and Teaching Assistant

 


Maria Sparaki is a member of the Athens Bar Association. She holds a Master 2 in European Union Economic Law from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and an LL.M. in Competition Law & Economics from the Brussels Study Center.

Over the past few years, Maria has gained professional experience in various European institutional and private-sector settings. In particular, she completed a traineeship in the Chambers of Judge Konstantinos Lycourgos at the Court of Justice of the European Union, where she contributed to legal research and analysis as well as to the preparation of judicial work. She subsequently joined the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), working within the legal team responsible for supervision, investor protection and sustainable finance. She also completed a traineeship at the Embassy of Greece in Paris and gained experience in the private sector, particularly in the field of competition law.

Maria joined the Centre for European Legal Studies (CEJE) at the University of Geneva in 2026 as a doctoral researcher and teaching assistant. She assists Professor Christine Kaddous with her teaching activities and is currently pursuing her PhD.
